Guy Nockels is the owner and driving force behind Namib Film. A filmmaker at heart, Guy started in the industry after leaving school in 1972, joining the SABC's sound department for a while before moving to London, where he worked in the BBC's film unit. Guy returned to South Africa in the 80s, where he worked extensively in the South African film industry in the sound department and then moved to the direction side of the industry, directing and producing television productions. Guy then worked as a 1st AD for many years, working on all aspects of the industry, in many different countries throughout Europe and Africa, before setting up Namib Film in Swakopmund. Guy's knowledge of filmmaking and Namibia has proven that he is a major asset to the Namibian film industry
and visiting producers. Guy's established contacts within the Namibian government and local authorities make him a key figure in the development of the local industry.

On completion of his studies at Berlin University in theatre and art history Alexander went to film school in Berlin, Germany. From 1980 onwards he worked in the film industry as a focus puller, second Unit cameraman and as a DoP for commercials, TV series, TV movies and feature films. Since arriving in Namibia in 2000, he has supported and helped develop the local film industry by filming, directing and editing theatre films in cooperation with the National Theatre of Namibia. He has also assisted Namibian directors by photographing and editing their projects of TV commercials, corporate videos, music videos, short- and feature films. Over the past eight years he shot and directed various corporate videos for the Namibian film companies, Namib Films and Magic Touch. As an award winning Director and DoP, Alexander boast a number of awards such as Best German Film at the 1997 Filmfest Munich, Nomination Grimme Preis for ’Liebe Luegen‘, Best European Film at the International Festival of Fantasy and Action Cinema (CND) for ’Killer Condom’, Best Namibian Production at the Namibian Film Awards for ’Differences ’, Best Film at the Namibian Film Awards for ’Between Friends’ and Best Cinematography at the Namibian Film Awards for ’Try ’.

After leaving school, Santa started her career as a nurse and then moved to the South African Defence Force in the Intelligence Corp during the war of independence. After Namibia received its independence from South Africa, she was demobilized and worked as the Logistics Manager for a fishing company in Swakopmund. Santa joined Namib Film in 2006 as Senior Office Manager, having been in the film and video distribution industry since 2000. After a staff restructuring at Namib Film in 2007, Santa was given the task of reorganizing the accounts department and business systems of the company, which she did in her normal meticulous way. As a company that employs many free-lance crews per year, her management and business systems as Financial Manager have proved to be totally efficient, with an accreditation from the Ministry of Finance on the efficiency of her systems.
